Bionomics International is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt non-governmental organization. It collaborates with scientists, technologists and others dedicated to facilitating the use of modern scientific methodology and information technology to enhance scientific research, development, and networking. Applying informatics and biological information in the promotion of sustainable development by nations with low per capita incomes is a special emphasis of the organization and integral to its international mission. The term "biological information" is defined in the broadest sense. It includes traditional academic biology, biotechnology, medical information, agriculture, aquiculture, foods and nutrition, bioremediation, biosafety and other environmental concerns affecting the biosphere, its diversity and quality of life.
